what is greeks go greeN?
Miami University Chapters of several fraternities have pledged to sign up for recycling services for their chapter houses. By ordering recycling bins for their homes, these fraternities have made a momentous step towards changing the culture of off-campus sustainability at Miami.
When approached by members of #GreeksGoGreenMU, a campaign funded by a Miami University American Studies class, the fraternity members immediately agreed to implement recycling services in their homes. With the considerable amount of fraternity members living at each home, and the number of single-use aluminum cans thrown out after their events, these recycling bins will make a significant impact on Greek Life at Miami.

#GreeksGoGreenMU also reached out to Miami University chapters of sororities to increase their recycling initiatives on and off campus. Sororities can encourage their members to recycle by adding recycling bins to their on-campus suites, fulfilling service hours with events like Greek Spring Clean, and help members living off-campus navigate the City of Oxford recycling sign-up process.
